Thanks for the update SSMTX - I found this announcement on the Thompson School District site:

Public budget meetingsThompson School District has scheduled four public budget meetings to address the projected shortfall in state education funding for the 2010-2011 school year. The district will likely see at least a $6 million rescission for the coming school year.

The meetings follow a budget survey, which received more than 1,000 responses from staff and the public. The survey asked respondents to prioritize budget-cutting options and also gave them opportunities to provide suggestions. The Budget Proposal Team, composed of parents, students, members of the community and staff, included the survey results and other data to make recommendations that will be presented at the meetings.

Each meeting is scheduled in a different quadrant of the district, but you may attend any or all of the meetings.

All meetings are from 6-7:30 p.m. and are:
Tuesday, March 23, Lincoln Elementary, 3312 N. Douglas Ave., Loveland

Monday, April 5, Winona Elementary, 201 S. Boise Ave., Loveland

Tuesday, April 6, Cottonwood Plains Elementary, 525 Turman Drive, Fort Collins

Thursday, April 8, Ivy Stockwell Elementary, 175 5th St., Berthoud

Are you frustrated with the proposed budget cuts?  Check out: http://www.greateducation.org/  they have some proposed initiatives to halt the drastic eductation cuts.

There's a small link just underneath the video. Here's the direct address to the survey page:

The Thompson School District will be receiving less funding from the State of Colorado, resulting in a $6 million budget deficit for our schools.  The School District is asking for citizen input with a Budget Survey on their website. It is important that Berthoud citizens weigh in on this critical issue of school funding.

Please visit this page on the Thompson School District web site to watch a video explaining the issue and take part in the survey:
